The latest Dubai Destinations campaign was put together by Brand Dubai, which is the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO). Director of Brand Dubai Shaima Al Suwaidi said, "From lively markets to interesting art displays, the latest #DubaiDestinations campaign highlights a variety of outdoor events that capture the spirit of the season and the UAE's unique character as a winter destination." Through the campaign, we want to bring more attention to the unique events that happen all over Dubai and give residents and visitors experiences they will never forget. Dubai holiday markets, events, and picnics await residents and tourists.

1. DSF market at Al Seef

Dubai's winter markets are some of the most interesting places to visit in the emirate during the colder months. The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) market on the waterfront promenade of Al Seef corniche is packed with activities, workshops, and entertainment that the whole family can enjoy.

The market runs until January 29 in the charming heritage district and has a full schedule of entertainment. Under the theme of "Learning by Doing," the market celebrates the spirit of passing on knowledge from one generation to the next. The rich culture and history of the UAE come to life through interactive art installations in four zones based on the natural elements of water, air, earth, and fire.

2. Etisalat Market: Thinking Outside the Box (OTB)

From January 19–29, the Etisalat Market Out of the Box (OTB) will be held at the Dubai Design District. It will have a variety of shops and restaurants, live entertainment, and activities for the whole family, such as a skating rink and a padel court. This season, the theme of the best alternative shopping spot in DSF is Korean and Japanese pop culture. At the event, people will be able to support Emirati and UAE-based business owners and find unique styles and tastes from dozens of homegrown brands.

3. Platforms for local goods

In the winter, the Ripe Market is one of the most popular markets in Dubai. It takes place every week in several beautiful places. The market has its main location at the Dubai Police Academy Park. It sells fresh food, different kinds of crafts, and fun activities for the whole family. Malls also host pop-up events that are like the original event but take place inside. The market is a place where local merchants and farmers can sell things like arts, crafts, clothing, and even fruits and vegetables.

The Farmers' Souq, which was opened by the Dubai Municipality, is another family-friendly place to go in the winter. The initiative is a free agricultural, social, and investment platform that runs until March 11 at the Palm Parks. Its goal is to bring Emirati farmers together under one roof so they can sell local food directly to consumers. This season, there are more than 50 kiosks at the Farmers' Souq that sell high-quality fruits, vegetables, dairy products, organic products, honey, dates, and herbal products grown on farms in the UAE.

This time of year, people can also go to the My Second Life (M2L) Market, which is a unique market. The M2L Market is held at the DIFC Gate Avenue and gives people a chance to get away from their normal lives and try out new things and tastes. The market, which runs until March 19, brings together creativity and culture through immersive experiences and interesting conversations for entrepreneurs, trend-setters, families, and creators. High at the Towers, a peaceful garden area with food trucks and cosy little spots to eat comforting street food, is also on the list of must-see places this season. It is in the heart of the DIFC district, next to the Emirates Towers.

4. A walk down memory lane

This winter, Dubai is hosting special events that take people back in time to enjoy the magic of times gone by. On January 30, there will be a classic car show at Safa Park called "The Grand Picnic." People are welcome to bring their vintage and sports cars and bikes to show off, then have a picnic in the park surrounded by cool cars.

5. Dubai Grand Picnic

For the first time, car owners will be asked to dress according to the era of their car. This month, a one-of-a-kind pop-up event called Dubai 80s was held at the Last Exit Al Khawaneej as part of the DSF. It gave visitors a visual look at Dubai in the 1980s and early 1990s. The goal of Dubai in the 1980s was to show a time when the emirate was on the verge of a big change. There were vintage photo galleries with pictures of Dubai before it became a global metropolis. There were also photo booths, shows, anime and live performances, old-school arcade games, and classic cars.

6. Art, music, and culture

This season, Dubai, which is becoming one of the most important cultural hubs in the world, is hosting unique public art events. The Quoz Arts Festival is one of the best things to do in the winter. It has more than 200 events that celebrate great art, music, and food. The 10th edition of the event, which took place from January 28 to January 29, had the theme "Shift Away." It featured installations, immersive activities, and performances by well-known musicians like Saint Levant and Bu Kulthoum.

This season, Dubai Lights: The Spark Within gives people another chance to see art that will stay with them. This winter, the event is back for a second time with 10 interactive installations by artists from around the world at City Walk. These famous pieces have been shown before at the famous Amsterdam Light Festival, but this is the first time they will be shown in Dubai. The event runs until January 29.

In the public art event Dubai Lights: Sea Wonder, people can visit The Pointe, Nakheel Mall, and Palm West Beach in Palm Jumeirah to explore a magical underwater world with immersive activities and decorations that are all about water. As part of the show, which runs until January 29, visitors can travel through illustrations and animations of underwater life, such as life-sized dolphins, jellyfish, starfish, seashells, and pink coral ornaments. Sustainability is at the heart of the installations, and every part is made from materials that have been reused, repurposed, or recycled.
