The UAE is a fun place
to visit as a family and you can easily spend a few weeks here without getting
bored. It’s also a great place to live in if you are looking for
family-friendly activities. There are a lot of fun outdoor activities you can
do in Dubai and the UAE in general. Indoor activities are also just as fun,
especially if you have the right equipment.
As an international
city, Dubai has many things to offer tourists, but this can make it a pricey
travel destination. The extravagant and luxurious things to do in the city are
known around the world and anyone visiting Dubai on a budget will have the most
fun doing the popular cheap activities & free things to do in Dubai,
although these are not limited to being only budget-friendly activities when
staying in this city (visitors who aren’t worried about sticking to a strict
budget can also enjoy all of these famous things to do in Dubai!). There is
something for every type of traveler and/or tourist no matter what kind of trip
they’re planning or hoping for as you’ll find below that nothing is too good
for visitors of this breathtakingly beautiful city!
We all love to travel
and we all want to travel with our entire family. But it is often not possible
because of the cost it entails. But that doesn’t mean that we should not travel
with our family. So, here are some of the best economical family-friendly activities
in UAE that you can’t miss on your next holiday.
1.Dubai Fountains

Located
beside the iconic Dubai Fountains and near the world’s tallest building
– Burj Khalifa – the Dubai Fountain is by far the most
popular tourist attraction in the city. Out of all the places to visit in Dubai, it is one of the most popular
because visitors get to enjoy both impressive fountains as well as a free light
show that always seems to have some sort of theme on display for every given
month or event. Seeing these two never-ending water features play hypnotizing
music surrounded by thousands of people from all over the globe creates a truly
amazing atmosphere that is especially great for city breaks. Get your camera
ready because you will be taking an awful lot of pictures! These shows must be
seen live, so between travel and sightseeing, make sure you fit them into your
schedule when visiting Dubai
2. Dubai Mall: Aquarium
and Waterfall

The Dubai Mall
is one of the world’s largest shopping malls! It’s home to 1200 stores and many
luxury brands, but you don’t have to buy anything from there unless you’ve got
some extra money or a burning desire for a new watch or those expensive shoes.
Yes, it’s much more than a place where people can freely spend their money.
What we love most about this unique mall is its amazing aquarium. Hidden behind
the waterfalls on the ground floor of the mall, this huge aquarium features
some impressive marine life. An educational and entertaining experience for all
ages! However, be sure not to miss the aquarium’s other incredible feature –
it’s an ‘underwater hotel’ where you can even swim with sharks and rays! The
only downside – is you have to pay an admission fee (approx 30 USD)
Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is a very lively place and, like most places in Dubai, it wakes up
after sunset. The Dubai Marina Promenade offers some 7km of walkways, and it’s one of
the most beautiful places one shouldn’t miss while in Dubai. It’s completely
free to visit! Most shops and restaurants are located here. Don’t miss the
dancing fountains at the entrance to the Marina Walk, right beside Dubai Marina
Towers Shows. The shows take place every 20 minutes in the evenings and also
during the day on the weekends. Good to know that weekends in Dubai are on
Friday and on Saturday (see more: facts about Dubai). There are festive parades
during Christmas – New Year holiday period, music festivals, boat parades etc..
So make sure to check in advance if anything special is happening when you are
there,
4. Ras Al Khor Wildlife
Sanctuary

Worth mentioning among
free things to do in Dubai is Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is
a breeding ground and essential habitat support for an incredible diversity of
migratory birds, stunning flamingos in particular which you can spot during
daily feeding sessions. You can stay around till 11 AM or so at the sanctuary
watching all the bird action.
5. Dubai Beaches

There are plenty
of beaches in Dubai to choose from and it
would be impossible to do them all justice here, so we recommend checking out
our guide to the best Dubai beaches if you plan on visiting any time soon.
Nevertheless, here are a few beaches that might appeal to different types of
beach-goers: Jumeirah Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Dubai for
tourists because it’s located just behind the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel. It has
great views across to Palm Island and features some nice cafes, restaurants and water sports options along its stretch. The Marina Beach (or JBR) at
The Walk is not actually a beach but more like an area that’s set up for
sunbathers near The Walk shopping centre. It’s not as lively or family friendly
as Jumeirah although there are plenty of sun loungers if you want a quiet day
on the beach without too much happening around you.
6. Traditional Markets
in Dubai
